Pukka Pies

Vision & Strategy Story
As part of a major strategic review, Pukka Pies had defined a big ambition – to grow sales by 50%.
Pukka’s CEO recognised that her leadership team needed to be fully bought into the ambition and be involved in defining the strategy to achieve it – as well as the values required to do this in a distinctively Pukka way. Only then would they be able to bring the rest of the workforce along with them.
Allman Communication facilitated a number of leadership team sessions which defined the Vision & Strategy story ’on a page’.
From this, a number of communication materials were created including a Big Picture, animatics and infographics. These were shared with the leadership team at an awayday including ‘market stalls’ for each functional team, showcasing how they were bringing the company vision & strategy to life.
For the broader workforce new communication channels were established such as a monthly team brief, an employee forum, noticeboard posters and a regular newsletter.
Employee engagement was measured via The Sunday Times ‘Best Companies Survey’, followed by face to face focus groups. A subsequent Sunday Times Survey showed significant improvements.

“When we needed to communicate an exciting new vision and strategy, Lesley worked with my leadership team – which ranged from evangelists to detractors – involving them in co-creating a company story and aligning them behind key messages. The result was a Pukka story which they all really bought into and could share with conviction and enthusiasm.”
